SHAPE-Africa offers a unique custom made platform where experienced people within the industry can offer their skills for the advancement of enrichment.
Workshops
- 1 day : Basic Introduction to Environmental Enrichment
- 2 day : Practical Application of Environmental Enrichment
- 2 day : Species Specific Enrichment and Behavioural Needs
- 1 / 2 day : Behavioural Training for Well-being
The workshops offered above will be held at a facility where delegates will be given practical presentations on the history, use and application of enrichment.
Delegates can be for students, animal care staff, vets to the general public who are keen on the subject of animal well-being.

Corporate Team Building Events
- 1 day : Custom-Built Animal Enrichment Adventures
- 1 day : Project-Based Enrichment Activities
- 1/2 day : project event based activities available
SHAPE-Africa will connect with a local animal-related facility where companies can join in and assist in creating fun and interactive enrichment.
Theme A : Build for Birds – teams will get to build fun interactive items for birds, such as Southern Ground Hornbill, Cockatoos, Birds of Prey and a variety of parrots.
Theme B : Create for Cats – teams will have fun figuring out how to play tug of war and generate object play for the cats.
Theme C : Play with Primates – teams will work with diets and get to help make puzzle feeders for the monkeys and apes.
Current Venue is : Lory Park Zoo, Midrand, Gauteng, South Africa.

Online Courses (under construction)
SHAPE-Africa through MHERA will offer online courses that aim to enhance current knowledge and implementation of environmental enrichment.
Online Courses on MHERA Platform cover:
- 1 day : Basic Introduction to Environmental Enrichment.
- 2 day : Deep-dive into the Application of Enrichment.
- 2 day : Study and Implementation of Enrichment.
